WEEK 19
During our trips from WEEK 19 with Ann Christin we have visited Løvøya in Horten, an amazing rocky place, where we explored in depth the main types of rocks ( sedimentary, metamorphic and magmatic) how they were created, which are the new ones and the old ones, how the glacier affected them and many other aspects. We visited three different points, each one had a main type of rock that we observed, draw and wrote some characteristics.
After seeing each main pain with the main type of rocks, we went into a hike with Ann Christin, but only the ones who wanted to, and weren’t afraid of heights.
Next day, we went to Horten Natursenter, in order to discover the maritime life from Borrevanet. We had a short introduction about how the day is going to be and the activities that we were about to undertake.
We split in three groups, each group had to row each boat. Each team had to collect something different from the lake. My team
and I had to take some samples in order to see the small living creatures and plants from the water. Another team had a fishing net and had to collect different species of fish.
After these activities, we had one more, which was collecting insects from the water. In the end we analyze them by putting them to the microscope and searching for them into different books to find out their characteristics.
It was a really productive day that I have enjoyed a lot!
