VIDEO PROJECT 1

COMPARISON OF HORTEN, SANDEFJORD AND OUR TWO HOMETOWN.

In our assignment, we were supposed to compare our home towns Mexico City and Dar Es Salam with the city where we are currently living  Horten and Sandefjord.

One of the first aspects we are going to go through is the architecture. The buildings, the houses, and University campuses are very different built and organized. The houses in Horten are mostly made of wood and are also single properties with exception of course of the buildings in the center. The architecture in Mexico City is widely diverse, you will find from modern luxurious houses and buildings, high skyscrapers to blocks of hundreds of modest small houses in the poor areas. The buildings and homes in Horten are also built with many layers of isolation to keep them warm in the winter and all of them have a chimney or oven. In CDMX we will find lots of homes with chimney or oven too because it can get very cold in the winter especially by the mountainside which surrounds the city. In the city of Dar Es Salam, houses are built very tight together and are made mostly of stone.

Another aspect that we found was different was the churches and graveyards  first what I found was so interesting was that in Norway, you will find graves surrounding the church areas, while in  Mexico city  churches and grave are separated  in Dar es salaam , there are different people who have different cultures and traditions when it comes to burials , example chagga people most of them are buried in their hometowns and in their compounds this  is  a tradition that  has been  there for generations. and will continue to be there. while here in Norway people have to buy the plots there buried in, because Norway is a small country and does not have big lands for burials  so some of there graves have 2 people buried and their names are just added ion the tombstone

the third aspect that we found was different between our home towns and Norway, food and all the groceries are  bought in supermarts and they are very expensive, but in our home countries like in dar es salaam the foods are sold in the markets as you will in the video and pictures that I put on this blog, in Tanzania, any city that you go too you will find fresh fruits and vegetables , but herein Norway due to the weather, not everything can be produced in the country so most of the staff is exported from other counties  that is why things  are a bit expensive , it is very different from our home towns  because we have good climate it is easy for farms to produce products and that why you find everything is fresh and doe not cost that much.
