folk stories

This week we worked on fol stories and how they are connected to the landscape. I was very surprised to see that many of the ideas behind this were the same from my country. a very folk story in my country had a meaning behind it. and every child could learn a certain lesson from it so this story is teaching us not to be gready

Rabbit and The lion

Once upon a time in the jungle there was a rabbit and a lion and they were very good friends. One day the rabbit and the lion received a letter of invitation for a wedding. The rabbit prepared some peanuts for the journey. She put them in her bag. and so did the lion as well. The journey began. The in middle of their journey the both felt hungry so the lion said they can share his food . so they continued with there journey , they were talking and having fun . then the rabbit said

Rabbit; i feel hungry”

Lion: we can share the rest of my food my friend

so they eat the lions food and continued with their journey . after a couple of hours the lion was hungry so the decided to ask rabbit if the could share some of his peanuts .

Lion: rabbit my friend i am hungry can we please share your peanuts?

Rabbit : well lion that is impossible i have put some medicine that will make you sick

The lion believed his friend and thought he would get some food when he gets to wedding . the rabbit eat all the peanuts without sharing them with his friend . when they were about to reach there destination the rabbit asked the lion.

Rabbit: my friend i think it will be a very good idea if we change our names

Lion : changed them? to what ?

Rabbit ; well i was thinking my name could be guests and yours could be everyone.

Lion ; well if you think it is a good idea then lets change our names ,’

They kept on walking until they reached their destination when they got there the hodt welcomed them inside the house and offered then a place to rest and some food .

The host : welcome my friends the food is for guests and everyone else can wait to eat later.

the lion was very hungry he had not eaten in a while and his stomach was making a lot of noise “grrrrrrrrrh” he decided to get some rest and try his luck in the morning. so when morning came the host said the same thing “guest can eat and everyone else can wait ” the lion watched his friend eat all the food without sharing any of it with him he got so angry and decide he will eat the rabbit instead so he started chasing the rabbit . and that is why until today the lion chases the rabbit and they are no longer friends.

So what do you think the story teaches us?
