Every occasion is good to discover new places near our campus!
For this project we have to compare a town near Borre, the area where we live here in Norway, with our hometown, using an audio-visual support. I did this draft with Irene, and due to we’re from different places in Spain, we decided to contrast Åsgårdstrand, Aluche and Ontinyent, so this give us the opportunity to show you the cultural diversity of Spain, as you’ll see on the video. You have some more information of these places in the next link: https://prezi.com/p/rtcfnbay33gl/#present. And here you have some photos of the places that we compare on the video.
During this work, we were travelling around this area so we discovered new places accidentally. Moreover we contact with some friends and family to get pictures from our hometowns to show better the sociocultural differences. We had some difficulties when we were recording the video because the strong wind make our voices incomprehensible, so we had to recorded them apart from the video and then mix everything.
After this project, we have learnt a lot of things about the history and some touristic information from the places we compared. However, we also learn how to use professional informatics programmes that we’ve never used before, for example we used them to create animations, or record and edit a video. The best point is that this learning is really important for me because I could use it in my future job as a teacher.
Moreover, from my point of view, videos are a new method for children to interact and learn more from a topic. Times and society change and nowadays young people have access to technological devices from early childhood, so it’s interesting to work with audio-visual support for two main reasons.
First of all, they have a big fluency using new technologies so we should improve this ability. On the other hand, this continued contact with electronic devices could be dangerous, so it’s our work as a teachers advise them about how they should use this social advantage.
After this brief reflexion, I am delighted to show you our result of a hard work week, so without further ado, here you can watch the video!
